Welcome EDMerica! 2011 will forever be remembered as the year the United States became fluent in the global community’s universal language of EDM. The United States FINALLY caught up with the rest of the world and started listening to Electronic Dance Music. Yes, there was a select handful of us in every state who had been pushing the EDM scene over the past decade or more, yet it still took until 2011 for the rest of America to fully grasp its power.

In 2011, EDM‘s energetic bass genres became a severe addiction. Fans from a substantially wider age range started fiending for new releases harder than ever, mainlining basslines every chance they got. Dubstep, Electro House, and Drum n Bass dominated the charts as Complextro, Drumstep and Nu:Disco began to emerge and rise rapidly in popularity. With such a phenomenal year for EDM talent, it was almost impossible to compile our annual “Top 10″ playlists as an excessive amount of artists were deserving of the honor.
